Weobley Jubilee Bluegrass Concert
at the Village Hall, Weobley, Herefordshire (8 miles NW of Hereford)
Saturday 2nd June 2012, 7.30 pm to midnight (Doors open 7pm)
Ebeling and Quinn: Arthur Ebeling from Holland often tours the UK with Shrewsbury-based Chris Quinn. Likened by critics to a partnership of Les Paul and Chet Atkins with a touch of Django, they are a must for lovers of blues, swing and roots music, with a sprinkling of bluegrass!
The Wagon Tales - An energetic young band from London whose influences include bluegrass, old time and western swing. All professional musicians, they have performed with acts as diverse as Madness and the English Chamber orchestra. ‘Stonking’!
The Moretons - An award-winning guitarist with over 40 years’ experience, Chris is a multi-instrumentalist and was 1997 acoustic guitarist of the year. Rated as ‘the best bluegrass guitarist in the country’ (The Independent), Chris is accompanied by his wife, Wendy, on the double bass.
The Down County Boys - Formed in 1964, the line-up has changed over the years but they are still going strong and are one of the UK’s most popular bluegrass bands. Superb tight instrumentals, precise harmonies, and a great sense of fun - UK bluegrass doesn’t get any better than ‘the DCBs’.
Tickets £12.50 until 19th May, then £13.50 (including ‘at the door’)
